"Last time at a party I saw these neon green boots" is a conceptual painting.   This artwork represents a personal experience, which is filtered, pinpointed and curated into an exact moment. A snapshot.                                   Translating a simple iPhone-photograph spontaneously taken with nothing more but momentarily amusement in mind, into an oil-painting on canvas is my attempt on recreating the lived experience and transforming the main subject, the center of attention, the focus magnet, a pair of boots into a symbol.                       The medium of painting plays an important role in the conceptualization, as it serves as an often used analogy. The analogy of a painting as a window into a world. Especially during the Renaissance painters like Leon Battista Alberti described a painting as a "fenestra aperta"(open window).
